Steve Pritchard of Georgia sent the following photos along. The sugar maple pieces represent his first attempt at DIY spalting, and are a great success! Steve used active media plates for a direct inoculation. Nice work, Steve!
The spalting operation moves once again – this time out to Oregon State University. Updates to follow as the spalting lab is set up and graduate students are acquired to carry on the fine spalting tradition.
